Meet Our Parade Marshall!
In actual fact, our Parade Marshall this year needs no introduction. We are very pleased and excited that one of Hamilton’s favorite personalities has accepted our invitation to be our Parade Marshall this year – Connie Smith. Connie’s warmth, professionalism, and dedication have made her a role model to countless aspiring journalists. Additionally she is very recognizable and highly regarded throughout the community. Ancaster is proud to count her as one of our citizens. She is also someone who is dedicated to family. We asked her how she felt about being asked to be the Parade Marshall and her response, not surprisingly, centered on her son. Connie’s exact quote was, “I am thrilled to be asked to serve as Heritage Days Parade Marshall. When my son was small and we first lived in Ancaster, watching the Heritage Days Parade was an annual tradition. I remember how excited he was, watching the marching bands go by. A few years later he actually took part in the parade with his Karate School. Now it’s Mom’s turn. I’ll be watching for him to cheer me on this time.” Come to the Parade on Saturday June 14th at 10am and welcome Connie back to Ancaster! |
