Hello Everyone

Unfortunately, the weather did not shine on Heritage Days in 2012. It truly is unfortunate because the committee worked extra heard this year in order to deliver an entertaining day, given the parade had to be put on hiatus.

We had some new and exciting entertainment, and I¹m sure those who persevered through the rain appreciated it, especially the Hamilton Aerial Group. It was a great addition to the list of events. The Encampment and field hospital at Memorial school was a real hit and many children had fun learning to drill as in 1812. Almost 3 dozen people toured historical St Andrews Cemetery and learned about some early residents of Ancaster.

I do thank the hearty residents who made it out in the rain, and I thank especially our churches and services clubs that supported us in an uncertain year ‹ St. John¹s, Ryerson, the Knights of Columbus, the Lions and the Optimists.

Also thank you to all our sponsors. Without you, there would be no Ancaster Heritage Days.

And now, we start immediately making petitions¹ to the weather gods for next year.
